I live in Buenos Aires, it's close to the Arena but... I consider that it has so many concerts... August, September, October... and November... When I bought and he cancelled, they rescheduled it for 4 months later, and then he cancelled... definitively. So from September 2023 to March 2024 they were withholding my money that they returned to me in April, I think. Hmm, I don't know what to do, it's very risky...

I totally get what you’re saying. That’s a difficult situation. I really wish he was more predictable. Of course, it’s impossible to know everything, and emergencies can happen, but he is definitely an outlier when it comes to his cancellation rate. I went and saw Peter Hook & the Light last Friday and wasn’t worried at all about him cancelling. I had a great time. Ideally, that is how it should be. Cancellations/postponements should be rare.

I'm deciding whether to get the ticket or not. I'm very, very hesitant. I doubt, doubt, doubt, doubt. Things cost money, for most of us who are people who live off our work... Doubts, doubts, doubts.
Exactly! At least if we only buy tickets for the city we live in, we could get the refund later and not have too much headache (albeit some people in Brazil have complained that they were not refunded for the 2024 cancellation - not Morrissey's fault, though). But it is only one gig in large countries such as Argentina and Brazil, there are certainly fans who will be tempted to plan trips for the gigs. A very dangerous arrangement, as we can see.

That is the problem... 10 out of 17 dates postponed and/or cancelled this year alone can hardly be called an accident.

Seriously, anyone that considers heading to a Morrissey gig thats any more than a few quid Uber ride from home is embarking on a risky scheme.

This reminds of the way the New Zealand dates had been cancelled in late 2023. He treats the unlucky buyers of tickets like animals with no brain. Not one single word of empathy and remorse towards them. Viva Contempt !

Are you kidding? Buy the damn ticket. If he cancels, you'll get the money back. Consider it a small saving in that case.
If you don't buy it and he plays, you might have missed the only chance to see him live. It's a no brainer.

Agree. OTOH, anyone who doesn't have to travel far for the gig, is not really taking any risks.

I feel similarly. I am holding onto tickets for January for my show that was supposed to happen in May. Regardless of what happens, at least I’m in town. For people who genuinely have little money, any concert ticket could be too expensive, though.

With Paris saturday and Antwerp monday that doesn't sounds very good...
I have my tickets to Antwerp but I'm holding my breath now... Especially since I have a two-hour drive there and back.

Even if I live in Buenos Aires, it's not right for me to cancel on you. In 2023 my country was on the brink of hyperinflation, I bought the ticket at a price, and when I got my money back it was clearly undervalued, the thing is that I'm not wealthy I work to live. I'm not sure. I have two friends, one with doubts and the other today grabbed us and told us that the thing about Spain and the succession of cancellations is disrespectful, which is why I'm not going... and she said it very angrily and she's not going to go because we already know her... And she continued... don't go, don't be so stupid and we looked at each other... Everything is difficult. No sean boludas nos dijo nuestra amiga yo no voy !!y ella cumple seguro no va .Que dificil ser fan de Morrissey !!

I was one click away last night from purchasing two tickets for Eugene,OR, for me and my son.
Grossly, Mozzer would have made close to 420$.
And the honest truth is, which made me sad, is that I didn't hit that final click because I thought the chances of it actually happening were slim.
Again, it brings me no pleasure. Just sadness.
I personally gave up on anything but direct-from-venue ( or authorized seller ) as I've always received a refund. As many do, if you are fortunate to travel to see him, plan adjacent and additional things and enjoy the location. You undoubtedly, if not scalped, will get a refund.

Argentina has been struggling with hyperinflation since time immemorial, you silly git.

I never noticed anything wrong with him in Manchester and even if there was there was, there was no way he was going to give up the opportunity to stick two fingers up to the Guardian. Shame 3500 people aren’t as important as 23000.
We both know the reason why, and it rhymes with funny.

He was using throat spray at Manchester -
about just after 3 mins in is an example:
You do know that a lot of singers use throat sprays for non-medicinal reasons? I saw Billy Joel use some in New York, and then I started to use in in our band. It's a very common, very standard thing to lubricate the vocal cords and help singers hit the notes.

In any other profession, if you get sick, you call in and take a day/week off. Just because Morrissey doesn’t have that kind of job, doesn’t mean he doesn’t get sick just like everyone else. He’s traveled and been in very crowded venues with hugs and touches. It would be miraculous if he never got sick. Everything depends on his voice, hearing, and energy. Maybe people should try to balance their disappointment with goodwill and concern. Health isn’t guaranteed, shows aren’t, years aren’t. We are lucky he exists and we have ears to hear.

You must not be aware that there are thousands of performers who do exactly what he does and manage to make it to their shows consistently. I do not even know why people try with this bullshit, there is no excuse for him, and we've been told he lies about it by Noel Gallagher. He would rather go out and drink than go to a show he scheduled and took money from people who thought he would show up and perform. He literally has no conscience.
